What is a double leg takedown?
The double leg takedown shoots for both of your opponent's legs, driving through them to take them down. Change levels by dropping your hips, penetrate with a deep step between their legs, wrap both arms around their thighs, and drive your shoulder into their hips while lifting or running through them. The double leg is wrestling's bread and butter and equally effective in BJJ. It works best when your opponent is squared up and not sprawling defensively. Key details: keep your head up and to the side (not buried in their stomach), drive with your legs not just your arms, and finish by running your feet or lifting and turning the corner.
