What is a baratoplata?

The baratoplata is a shoulder lock that attacks from guard using your legs. You trap their arm with your legs similar to an omoplata but rotate in the opposite direction, creating a unique shoulder lock angle. Named after Rafael "Barata" Freitas who popularized it. The baratoplata catches people off guard because it comes from unexpected angles. It works well as a counter when opponents defend other guard attacks.
