What is a body triangle?
A body triangle is a powerful control position from back mount where you cross your legs in a figure-four configuration around your opponent's torso. One ankle locks behind the other knee, creating immense squeezing pressure on their ribs and diaphragm. The body triangle is more secure than hooks for back control because opponents cannot simply pry your feet off. To apply correctly: triangle toward their weak side (opposite your choking arm), squeeze your knees together, and point your toes. A tight body triangle makes breathing difficult and can score points as a submission attempt in some rulesets. The main defense is preventing the lock by keeping elbows tight and fighting the bottom leg. Transitioning to body triangle is common after establishing back control with seatbelt grip.
